How we started
L ondon, England born and daughter of British Jamaican parents, the founder of Smashing Sweets Bakery, Tahna Ruise, innovatively brings a mixture of the famous sweeties from the hub of England, the fresh island flavours of Jamaica, and the powerful punch of North American desserts to the table in a way that cannot be resisted. With taste, texture, scent, and visual appeal in mind, she makes sure that all of the desserts are tantelizing delectables.
Tahna Ruise has over 28 years of expertise in the baking world and is ready to provide magnificant flavours that will have you asking Smashing Sweets Bakery for seconds and thirds. Some of our signature cake flavours are the Battenberg sponge cake filled with apricot jam and topped with traditional marzipan, Key Lime in Key West with a vanilla cake soaked in a fresh, tangy lime glaze, and lastly the Jamaican Rum Cake topped with royal icing.
